Create beautiful flores de papel (tissue paper flowers) in honor of Cinco de Mayo! We hope this celebration today allows us to reflect on our history as Californians and appreciate our vibrant, diverse community.

In the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, California experienced an explosion of new cultures and traditions. Frank Miller of the Mission Inn appreciated the rich culture of Mexico, employing Mexican artisans and their unique skills to create pottery, lace, and jewelry at the hotel, in addition to decorating his hotel with art and artifacts purchased in Mexico City. As will see on our 30-minute family-friendly tours, the hotel also boasts a unique architecture influenced by Mexico and Spain.

Families participating in First Sundays are welcome to enjoy a 30-minute family-friendly exterior tour of the Mission Inn led by our Youth Ambassadors.
