Event Date: June 5, 2019
Please join us in honoring Ofelia Valdez-Yeager as the recipient of the 2019 Frank Miller Civic Achievement Award. The award ceremony and celebratory dinner will take place on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at the Mission Inn Hotel & Spa's Grand Parisian Ballroom. The event begins at 6:00 p.m. Seating is extremely limited and tickets are priced at $175 per person.
Ofelia has much in common with Frank A. Miller, founder of the Mission Inn. Mr. Miller believed in Riverside and all that it could become. He created opportunities for economic development. He was a tireless advocate for positive change.
The Frank Miller Civic Achievement Award was established in 1997 to honor individuals, couples or groups who have made significant contributions to the city and community of Riverside. Frank Augustus Miller’s tradition of civic leadership and devotion to this community carries on in the efforts of many leaders and innovators working to promote and enhance the city of Riverside today. It is with Miller’s life achievements in mind, that the Mission Inn Foundation presents the Frank Miller Civic Achievement Award.
The award also serves as a fund raiser for the Mission Inn Foundation as well as an opportunity to share and highlight with the community the activities, programs and achievements of the Foundation.
The success of this once-in-a-lifetime event honoring individuals who have provided outstanding civic leadership, service, and support is credited largely to our sponsors, who lend their names and financial support to the event. The funds we raise each year go toward youth educational programming in our local schools, preserving the history of the Mission Inn Hotel & Spa, and sharing the legacy of Frank Miller.
Past honorees include Knox Mellon, Tim Hays, Judge Victor Miceli, Peggy Fouke Wortz, Justice John Gabbert, Duane R. Roberts, Art Littleworth, Henry Coil, Jr., S. Sue Johnson, Gary Rawlings, Chuck Beaty, Ron & Marsha Loveridge, Judge Charles Field, Cindy Roth, Joe Tavaglione, Jack B. Clarke, Jr., and most recently Gordon Bourns in 2018.
